Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational or regulatory reasons. We will post the revised policy on the site and update the "Last updated" date.
Information we collect
Information you provide directly. When you submit the system-data questionnaire, a contact form, a request for information or an email, we collect the information you choose to provide. This typically includes your name, company, job title, email address, phone number, and the technical details of your application, such as fluid, line size, flow rate, pressures, temperature and related system data. We may also collect the contents of any messages, drawings or documents you send us.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site we and our service providers automatically collect certain usage data using cookies, pixels and similar technologies. This may include your IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed, time on page, and how you arrived at the site (for example, from a search result or an advertisement).
Information from third parties. We may receive information about you from service providers that support the site, such as our website host and form-processing provider, and from advertising platforms when you click on one of our advertisements.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information (such as government identifiers, financial account numbers or health information) through the site, and ask that you do not submit it.
How we use information
- Responding to inquiries. To evaluate the system data you submit, prepare quotes and proposals, answer questions and communicate with you about your application. This is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- Operating and improving the site. To run the site, understand how visitors use it, diagnose problems, and improve content and navigation. We use Google Analytics 4 for this purpose.
- Advertising and measurement. To measure the effectiveness of our advertising and, where permitted, to show you advertisements for our products on other websites. We use Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising conversion tracking for this purpose.
- Marketing communications. To send occasional email about our products and technical content where you have opted in or where permitted by law. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any such email.
- Security and legal compliance. To detect and prevent fraud or abuse, enforce our Terms of Use, comply with legal obligations, and protect our rights and the rights of others.
How we disclose information
We do not sell personal information for money. We may disclose personal information:
- To service providers that perform services on our behalf, including website hosting and form processing (Webflow), email, cloud storage, analytics and advertising measurement (Google, Microsoft), and, where an inquiry results in an order, our fabrication and machining vendors to the extent needed to produce and ship your order.
- To advertising partners, in the form of usage data and conversion events collected through cookies and pixels. Under some state privacy laws this may be considered "sharing" or a "sale" of personal information for targeted advertising. You can opt out as described under Cookies above.
- At your direction, such as when you ask us to send information to a colleague or a third party.
- In connection with a business transaction, such as a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
- To comply with law, respond to subpoenas or lawful requests, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, property or safety of Restrict Flow, our customers or others.
Confidentiality of submitted system data
The technical and commercial information you submit about your piping system is treated as confidential business information. We use it only to evaluate and respond to your inquiry and, if you place an order, to engineer and produce your product. We do not publish it or share it with other customers in a form that identifies you or your company. We may describe the technical aspects of an application in anonymized case studies and technical content, with company names, locations and other identifying details removed, unless you ask us not to. We may also use aggregated, de-identified data to improve our sizing methods and content. We may identify the companies we have supplied, by name and industry only, in a client list on the site unless the customer asks us not to. We do not connect a named customer to any application data, case study or technical detail.
Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry, perform any resulting contract, maintain business records, comply with legal and tax obligations, and resolve disputes. Inquiry and questionnaire records are typically retained for the period during which the inquiry could reasonably lead to an order and for our standard records-retention period thereafter.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send highly sensitive information through unencrypted email or web forms.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: request access to the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of your information; request a portable copy; opt out of targeted advertising or the "sale" or "sharing" of your information; withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and appeal a decision we make on your request. These rights are subject to exceptions under applicable law.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may have the right to lodge a complaint with your state attorney general or local data-protection authority.
Children
The site is intended for business and professional use and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
