Cavitation control in maritime liquid systems

Maritime systems often combine compact piping layouts, continuous operation, seawater exposure, and strict reliability requirements. Cavitation in seawater, freshwater, cooling, or service-water systems can create noise, vibration, and downstream wear in spaces where inspection and repair may be difficult.

  • Space constraints. Shipboard piping often has limited room for long staged assemblies or added components.
  • Noise and vibration. Cavitation-related noise can be more noticeable in compartmentalized shipboard environments.
